My story

I always wanted to work in sports. After it became clear my basketball career was going to get as high off the ground as my vertical — i.e. not very high — I decided to combine my two loves into a career: sports writing.  But I never expected this career would take me from Pittsburgh to Syracuse to WrestleMania.

Chapter 1: Syracuse University

Before I started my freshman year of high school, I told my mom that I wanted to be a journalist, so she outlined some prestigious j-schools. At the same time, Carmelo Anthony was leading Syracuse University to a National Championship and I decided I wanted to be an Orange.

I graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in December 2011 with a degree in Magazine Journalism and a minor in Nutrition. I co-founded the first sports magazine on campus, Extra Point Sports Magazine, and covered Syracuse sports with The Daily Orange and TheNewshouse.com.

Chapter 2: Entering the real world

The summer before my final semester, I moved from Pittsburgh to Connecticut to intern at WWE Magazine. I transcribed interviews and pitched stories, and my commitment paid off when WWE called me to schedule a job interview the day of my final college class. I started as a WWE Digital copy editor one week before walking in my graduation at the Carrier Dome.

Chapter 3: Building experience

My time as a copy editor strengthened my editing skills. At the end of my first year, the magazine recruited me to be Assistant Editor, which strengthened my interviewing and scheduling skills. I returned to WWE Digital in August 2014 as Associate Editor and quickly combined all of those traits to write interesting features, produce popular video series, and cover live WWE events.

Chapter 4: Interviewing around the world

Now a Digital Content Editor, I’ve traveled from Ireland to Iowa to interview the parents of wrestlers about raising a future star (My Son/Daughter is a WWE Superstar). I’ve chatted with former Superstars to find out what they’re up to after retiring (Where Are They Now). I write weekly news videos based on social trends in the WWE world; I script and produce weekly list videos; and I pitch and write unique written features (WWE-inspired baseball teams).
